December Spirit Lineup – Tequila

Notes from the crew:

Nichole: Tequila, tequila, tequila….how I love my tequila.  I have to give props to El Tesoro Platnium for a well made tequila, but my true love goes to Cuervo 1800 Anjeo.  The 1800 has such a smooth, rich and well-rounded taste and finish.  The spicy yet sweet flavor warms me up and keeps me begging for more. Don’t mix, don’t even ice it, drink it straight for a fantastic tequila experience. If you need some help, let me know and I will help you taste test :)

Great Scotch Tasting!

Notes from the crew:

Brad: Favorite Scotch: The Balvenie 15 year has a very dynamic palate with a very long finish allowing you time to find many flavor notes.

Lance: Favorite Scotch: The Balvenie was ultimately the most approachable with an incredibly smooth caramel flavor and long finish, though I was also very impressed with the Glenrothes 1985 – the wonderful flavor and complete lack of bite on the finish would make it a strong contender for FINAL DRINK anytime.

Jason: Favorite Scotch from second tasting in November (again, great job Lance!) [thanks dude! - Lance]: Definitely The Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year Old. Wow, I have just never had a scotch reach out and grab me like this one did! I loved the complexity, the flavors, and the finish! This is the perfect Scotch to enjoy with a long lost friend or even with your most cherished buddy on an unforgettable occasion (like turning 40 maybe??). Yes, this one was awesome.

Nichole:  I know it is a little redundant, but I too enjoyed the Balvenie Single Barrel.  I have never really had the opportunity or desire to drink scotch, however, this scotch allowed me to appreciate the complexity and amazing flavor a good scotch has to offer.  I would very much enjoy this straight up, sitting by the fire on a cold winter night. Another great scotch to try, if you can obtain it, is the Glenrothes 1985; good year, good scotch!
